You're so right about the misses. Every miss is a diaper you would be changing anyways, so what difference does it make?

You'll be really surprised how easy it is. I was, and I didn't think it would be, even with all the people telling me how easy it is! Lol

My first 'EC' purchase was a little seat to go on our toilet that Oliver could sit on without falling into the potty. But without any learning potties to clean out on top of diapering.

And you can tell your mom that babies don't have to walk to sit on a potty, they just have their own way of telling you they have to go, and make cute poopy faces until you take them where they need to go!

[...] shooting for that. I remember getting flack for attempting to potty-learn Adrien when he was about 15 months. People were telling me that “any kid will go if you take their diaper off.” Ya. So. [...]

We live in an apt too! Luckily we have our own washer and dryer. I used disposables almost completely with my first. Then my second was almost completely cd'd from day one. But after he was a year old I just couldn't do it with him anymore: his raging food allergies made poo hard to deal w/ and financially I couldn't shell out for larger sizes fir him. But anyway...wtg with the EC! Maybe you can teach me :-D

What a BIOTCH!

Don't worry, Karma will sort her out when she has her own... Though I am kind of hoping she doesn't plan to procreate. I propose a mandatory sterilization program for internet trolls!

As for your sposie situation, we use them because the washing facilities in our apartment building are not good enough to properly clean cloth diapers, and there is no diaper service in our city (I'd be willing to pay so much to get rid of these disgusting paper diapers). I ended up compromising by practicing Elimination Communication and making it my goal to spend as much time out of diapers as possible!

I hope your new fluff comes soon!

Sorry Dude! That stinks. One very important thing to remember when applying for any job is - it's not what you know, it's who you know - so he probably hired a friend of a friend who was recommended to him or something stupid like that. I can't tell you how many jobs that I applied for and was not given because they hired someone they knew - even though they were much less qualified. Don't give up!

Have you spoken with a lactation consultant (LC)? I am no expert but am wondering if there is something that can be done, a change in diet to lessen your oversupply, or a nipple shield to "regulate" the flow (I don't even know if that would work, I'm not a LC myself, but maybe 3 holes would be easier?).

I know there are online boards where LC offer advice, but it's been so long, I don't remember which ones are available. (perhaps even La Leche).

GL and keep telling yourself, whatever the decision, a happy mommy = a happy baby.

Maybe you can pump for a little while using a Breastflow bottle and then go back to the breast when she's ready to handle the letdown? Just seems like exclusively pumping would be a nightmare.

You know what? Life is better--richer--with you and your family here to share time with. I am glad that you had a good birthday and to know that your husband is as awesome as I suspected. :)
